OnTrac started in 1991 as California Overnight. It was a division of its now 60-year old parent company Express Messenger Systems, Inc.(EMS). EMS began in Canada and expanded its operation through the acquisitions of several Canadian and American courier companies. They saw an opportunity to provide a more affordable next-day service from Los Angeles to San Francisco and created California Overnight.

OnTrac has continuously adapted to the ever-changing delivery and e-commerce landscape to ensure we always provide shorter transit times, more flexibility, and lower costs than our competitors. Thanks to this proactive approach, we’ve grown to be the first transcontinental carrier of choice for last-mile e-commerce deliveries.
